Web 2.0 conference

so here I am at the rebirth of the web. Sort of. Actually, I'm at the web 2.0 conference in SF (http://www.web2con.com ) with what seems to be just an astonishingly impressive list of attendees. All the old-timers are here, John Doerr, Mark Cuban, me. Well gee, one of those isn't like the others. But seriously... either someone amazing convinced all of these people to get here, or we're all a lot more bored than I thought!

Me, I just came cause they did... maybe that's why we're all here.

memorable moments included bezos' showing off all the web services stuff like a1.com and musicplasma.com (totally cool) and the new idealab search engine based on the x1 technology (LOVE THAT COMPANY!)

More later, maybe.

I'm a pretty sad blogger

posting two

Hmmm. I forgot to put up some photos of my crazy newest release.

It's not a film, record, video game or even a new company. It's my daughter, Isabella.

She rocks

I'm going to post some photos here of her soon.

The First Entry

Ok. So this is actually a small experiment for me. I'm Richard D. Titus. The D is important you see, there are a TON of Richard Titus's out there owing to some weird family tradition of naming 1st born children (the male ones) after their Father.

Makes for a confusing Thanksgiving dinner. (there are six Richard’s in my current near family, three of them married to women named Susan, including both of my parents!)

If you want to know about my background, do a quick search on google (include the D. and use quotes) and you’ll find out all you need to know. Yes I was a roadie, yes I was an early internet guy, yes I’ve produced some movies, even that some for playboy, no that’s not me in front of the Supreme Court (no D.)

That said, enough about me, lets talk about what I care about:

Movies of the week:
Troy = Good
Van Helsing = Shite

Music of the week:

Unkle - Romanian mix CD = Good
Any of the top 10 here: http://www.billboard.com/bb/charts/airplay/adult.jsp = BAD (except evanescance I have a soft spot for cute goth girls.)

Top Book

The 48 Laws of Power by Robert Greene = Good
Time Magazine = Bad (badly written, researched and pre-digested news for the unintelligent.)

Lastly, here are Richard's three POST E3 predictions:
1 - Sony will move to #2 in game consoles all around by next e3, and in fact will continue in slow decline in the games space for the near term.
2 - Microsoft will OWN the home entertainment (games/av) system in the near term.
3 - Schematic will develop more UI's for television than any other firm in the world (ok it's a shameless plug, but it's true: http://www.schematic.com

That's it 1st post, simple and boring.

I have NO idea whether this will turn into something interesting or not, but hey. If you are reading it I'm doing something right.
